Russian dash cam catches amazing truck crash
You Tube is veritable playground of Russian dash cam videos ranging from comical road rage incidents to eye-popping highway crashes. One of the latest to go viral is "The Luckiest Truck Driver in Russia."
True to the title, this video, which has gotten more than 500,000 hits in two days, does not disappoint.
Once your jaw dislodges from its gaping open position, and astonishment at this guy's survival fades, watch a few of these videos and its hard not to wonder at the seemingly endless parade of Russian motorists plying highways with dash cams rolling.
Apparently, according to comment board discussions and amusing video examples, dash cams are frequently used by private drivers in Russia and other countries where insurance scams are commonplace.
For example, there's this gem from Taiwan:
I love how nonchalant the driver is while admonishing the would-be scammer.
So, the next time you’re stuck in traffic at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, or waiting through the third rotation of the left turn signal at Jefferson Avenue and Oyster Point Road, consider how it could be.
